Our goal is to demonstrate respect for our land, animals and environment in a sustainable manner. We started about seven years ago with six ewes and a wonderful ram. Thru careful selection of prodigy and additions from a variety of flocks around the country, we have built a strong, stable flock currently consisting of 24 ewes and 3 excellent, proven rams. We have moved the entire flock to a new 35 acre farm with wonderful pastures and water. We are considering a slight increase in our flock size and will be concentrating on meat production and additional wool and fleece products. We will still sell, on occasion, registered animals for breeding stock. We look forward to breeding this fall for the first time in two years on the new farm and will be using best-practice techniques to try and minimize the need for chemical parasite controls or other expensive inputs. Stay tuned Because we are in a transition phase, we will be limitting farm visits. However, we are always happy to talk to new (and old) friends and interested partners about Icelandic Sheep. -Magi and Jay Shapiro
